MDT 6x6 - The current range of MDT Toyota
Landcruiser 6x6 and 6x4 vehicles have been developed from
the experience of servicing and listening to customers. To
us, the most important people in the equation are those out
there using and maintaining the vehicle. The current 78/79
series 6x6 or 6x4 Landcruiser, with a GVM of 5.75 tonnes,
and two wheelbase choices, is a formidable heavy duty vehicle. Maintenance
has been minimized, with the use of Commercial Off The Shelf
components. (COTS). The new “Torque Manager” power
divider provides traction to the mid and rear wheels with
no control input at all from the cabin. It will not “wind-up”
and will not “spin-up”, managing the torque output
to the rear axles at all times. The new suspension is a simple
100% load sharing equalizer beam allowing wheel travel of
220mm, It doesn’t feel any different to drive than the
standard 4X4 and requires no special driver training.
The vehicles are fully compliant with the Australian Design Rules (ADR’s) and have Australian Compliance Plate Approval.
MDT 4x4 - MDT offers increased payload
GVM upgrades to maximize the proven Toyota 4x4 vehicle. Two
Models are available. The MDT 3500 which extends the GVM to
3500 Kg and the MDT 3700 increases the GVM to 3700 Kg with
a 200 mm chassis extension. These upgrades maximize tray length
giving a cost effective payload increase whilst improving
ride and handling and a reduction of an overload situation.
MDT vehicles are manufactured to operate safely and reliably over a wide range of environments and unique conditions.
The MDT systems can cater for a wide range of specialist use or unique to user requirement: MDT can integrate special to purpose payload modules based on the 4wd and 6wd systems to meet client specific requirements including rural special to purpose payload modular solutions. MDT designs and modular solutions would comply with state and federal and military specifications.
MDT can offer these integrated solutions in conjunction with clients and industry leaders in achieving operational modular solutions to gain a cost effective solution whilst getting a prompt ROI.

A MDT 6x6 MOTS Version (Military) is participating in a
trial with the Ministry of Defence in Oman – The vehicle
has performed exceptionally well in the harsh Middle East
environment and an export opportunity is expected after
very positive feedback compared to the other contenders.
